Our Saturday run was cancelled due to weather. Sunday I ran solo on Davidson Mesa. Because it was flat, grey and incredibly boring, I decided to do a tempo run. I ran three 3-mile loops, staying on the Mesa because of the black ice on the streets.
The music on my iPod made the time go faster and kept me from running off the Mesa in sheer frustration. I don’t mind looping once during a long run up to the Mesa and back, but three times? It was a bit much.
Since it was my music that kept me sane, I’ve decided to devote today’s recap to what’s on my iPod. I’ve asked people over the past week what they’re listening to. Some of it I’ve enjoyed, and some of it, well, not so much.
Here’s a list of the music I downloaded on Saturday while sitting at my computer hitting the “refresh” button on IronmanLive.com to track my buddies.
P!nk – Funhouse
James Cotton – Living the Blues
Rob Thomas – Her Diamonds
Eminem – Lose Yourself
Koko Taylor – Queen of the Blues
Michael Franti and Spearhead – Say Hey (I love You)
Other music still on my iPod that gets a lot of run-time:
Tab Benoit – Too Many Dirty Dishes (Night Train) – Cajun Blues
Madonna – 4 Feat (with Justin Timberlake) – Pop
Survivor – Eye of the Tiger – Pop
Natalie MacMaster – Fairy Dance – fiddle music!
Safri Duo – SambAdagio – electronic
Moby – Flower – electronic
Queen Latifah – Ladies First – Hip-Hop/Rap
Debbie Davies – Down in the Swamp – Blues
Elvis Presley – A Little Less Conversation – Rock
Jesus Jones – Right Here, Right Now – Rock
What are YOU listening to? What get’s you through the speed work-outs, the tempo runs, and is just plain good music that you can jam to?
