Great post...I think a lot of us are feeling this same sort of thing. The urge to run after getting H1N1. This one really is an a** kicker for runners. I am training for JFK this year, and was planning on running MCM as a training run last weekend. Wouldn't you know it, I came down with fever Saturday night and was sidelined as a result for MCM. I have been running some of the fastest training times prior to getting sick as well, and have been very excited about the race season. The pig jumped on my back however and is making things difficult. I am recovering well (what Lara says is right on about quick recovery for fit people), but find that the residual effects on the respiratory are hard to push through...and in most cases shouldn't be pushed through. I am hoping to get back into some light training with rest this next week, and further more praying that the base that I've built will be appropriate for re-engaging in training fully by the end of next week. With JFK 50 only three weeks away, I can only hope that my body/mind remembers what I've done for the last 20 weeks for training.
