Although I'm a not a runner but a hiker, I share your appreciation for our trails. The higher elevations in the foothills are great now with the right footgear. I've switched to micro-spikes for hiking, no-slip, don't pick up mud on the dirt patches, easy to get on and off, and lightweight and flexible. Anyway, happy running!
