In less that 48 hours, Joe will be running the Pittsburgh Marathon, the second marathon in as many weeks as a fundraiser for his dear friend Dom. He left Austin this morning to fly to Pittsburgh, where he’ll toe the line and put it ALL out there on the course. DONATE toRUN FOR DOM.
Remember Joe? I interviewed him a few weeks ago for this blog, and that interview found its way onto several other site in the blogosphere. Seems that Joe’s passion for running and paying homage to his friend is something many of us can relate to.
The final hours of the fundraiser are upon us, and it’s time to dig in and put your money where your heart is! Dom is still fighting the hard fight against cancer, and you can help support his fight and pay medical bills with your dollars. STILL HAVEN’T DONATED? CLICK HERE.
Joe has offered a prize on his blog Joe is Running for Dom, and says that the person who guesses the closest to his finishing time in Pittsburgh wins a signed copy of Steve Speirs book, “7 weeks to 100 Push-ups”! Here are his two official rules:
1. Log on to our secure site and make a gift in support of Run for Dom. The gift can be any size and if you have made a previous gift to my effort to run two marathons in just 13 days to support my good friend’s battle with cancer – you are already eligible. To donate, click:

2. Post your prediction of my finishing time at the Pittsburgh Marathon this Sunday in the comment section below. After the post-race celebration with Dom and his family, Joe will announce the winner.
Now, there’s been a little back and forth on this friendly bet in the email-sphere, and Jason Cass of Ruffalocody.com has upped the ante. Here are his official rules to win a cool t-shirt!
Rules are:
1. You must meet the qualifications to post your guess (meaning you must have donated, if you haven’t, get on it!)
2. Times must be posted in the comments section of Joe’s blog to be eligible, and you must post the time before the race begins
3. Bets of any amount are allowed, please submit your money here: http://runfordom.com/donate.html
4. After you submit your bet, send Jason Cass your name.
5. Winner will receive bragging rights for 1 full year (expiration of bragging rights ends 5/1/2011)
6. Winner also receives a sweet T-Shirt, complements of Jason Cass.
So what are you waiting for? DONATE to RUN FOR DOM, send Jason your name, and cheer on Joe this Sunday in Pittsburgh as he runs his second marathon in 13 days. What was the first one? Hint: a little race in Boston…
