It’s been wild and crazy this week, a true Colorado Spring. Today there’s been rain and a wild little snowstorm. Two days ago it was almost 70 degrees, sunny and perfect. It looks like we’ll get more of the same, at least for a few more days.
I’ve snapped some pictures this past week, and thought it high time I shared. Enjoy!

Harper's Lake in Louisville the morning after a good night's rain.

New little yellow flowers on a tree near the pond, shining brightly in the sun after a rainstorm.

My favorite picture of the spring; the green buds contrasting with the burnt-orange of fall leaves that never fell!

Longs Peak, as seen from Davidson Mesa.

A little bird perched on a dead stalk in the middle of the Davidson Mesa.

Irises in the rain. They've opened a few times this week, but mostly they're staying tucked away where it's warm.

Kirby sitting in the front yard after the fast-and-furious snowstorm at noontime. I snapped the picture mid-lick, she was getting a drop of snow that had fallen on her nose!
About Lara
My favorite words, in no particular order: sunrise, water, authentic, friend, joy, movement, passion, freckle, chocolate, heart. More to come.
I grew up in the Northeast, and am partial to the long, gradual springs we see here. But your photos made me remember how much fun it is to have a crazy Colorado spring, in which your just-bloomed irises may get covered by a foot of snow … in May (true story from my freshman year at CU!). Thanks for sharing.
