Not Called Team CAN For Nothin’!!
I was honored to be approached this week by Team CAN. They asked me to help spread the word that there are still slots available on Team CAN, the fundraising arm of the ING NYC Marathon. They have about 50 spaces left for registrants who want to run the ING NYC Marathon in November, but were unable to get a spot in the lottery.
Now, you can run! Register as a member of TEAM CAN and raise money for cancer patients and their families. This is the kind of fundraising Joe over at Joe Still Runs for Dom did this past Spring, and now you can get in on the action at the NYC Marathon!
Founded as a not for profit charitable organization in 2003, Team Continuum provides immediate, vital, non-medical assistance to cancer patients and their families. What they do is quite simple, but has a direct, profound effect on people’s lives.
Team Continuum is honored to be an official Charity Partner of the New York Road Runners. With several hundred entries they are among the largest independent teams in the world-class 2010 ING NYC Marathon. Athletes who did not get in via the lottery or did not register at all can secure their entry by joining the team and registering online at www.teamcontinuum.net. Benefits include coaching, race day gear, and a private pre-race pasta party.

For more information visit the TEAM CAN website www.teamcontinuum.net or call 917-595-4168.

They contacted me too- I want to run this race badly in 2012 (yes, I do plan that far ahead) and if I don’t get picked (itll be my second lotto year) I am going to give this a lot of thought!
Wow, you really DO plan long-term! That would be awesome to run it. You could TOTALLY do it… and yeah, the charity entry might be the way to go!
